The curriculum we will be studying includes: Understanding the High School System, Identifying the Classes that Form Part Of The “4 Year Plan”, Recognizing the Importance of Grades (GPA), Reviewing Other Important Requirements and Programs, Discussing Higher Education Options, Identifying the Different Financial Aid Options.

Niigata Minami High School Japanese Visitors Enjoy OG

54 students are visiting us from Niigata Minami High School for the next two days. Each Japanese student has an OGHS buddy who will host them on campus to all of their classes. The students will present science projects and engage in cultural exchange activities including a Saturday field trip to the San Diego Safari Park and Beckman Center for Conservation Research.

Join CSUSM Upward Bound!

Upward Bound (UB) is a federally-funded TRiO grant program through the U.S. Department of Education.  UB provides fundamental support to 9th – 12th grade participants in their preparation for college. The goal of UB is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education. Click for more information!

Culinary Competes Again

On Friday we competed in our annual EUHSD Culinary Competition hosted by The Art Institute. Although we did not take 1st place, these students pictured worked really hard and we are proud of them! It’s always such a great experience and we learn a lot! Please congratulate them if you have any of these students.

Safari Park will be on Campus!

Safari Park currently has over 100 open positions! Their HR department has scheduled a short presentation for interested students in the College & Career Center on March 21st. The HR representatives will talk to students about Safari Park expectations as well as offer resume assistance. They LOVE to hire students from OGHS! Please share this information with your students. Applicants must be 16 & UP.

Student Trip to Cal Poly Pomona!

Ms. Bronwyn accompanied emerging bilingual students on a field trip to tour Collins School of Hospitality and Management at Cal Poly Pomona. Student enjoyed a handcrafted lunch made by students of the school, much like our Patriot Café.
