Check Your Mood Week

Through the use of SOS Signs of Suicide® Prevention Curriculum San Diego Youth Services will be conducting a week long “Check your Mood” week on your campus to all 9th graders. A presentation will be offered for their parents and guardians. SOS focuses on preventing suicide by educating youth and their families on the risk factors of suicide and to reduce the stigma around seeking help for themselves or others. These group of parents/legal guardians participated in a eight consecutive weekly workshops where they learned about the high school system and college admission information, among many other school-related topics (CA dashboard, met with their children's counselors, etc). Some had perfect attendance, too, which reflected on a star printed on their certificate.
