Happy National Parent Involvement Day!

Big thanks to Martha Sarabia, her volunteers, and Culinary Arts for providing coffee and cookies for our families this morning. Our student and parent volunteers did a wonderful job passing out the goodies to our delighted families as they dropped off their students in the front of the school.

OGHS Patriot Band and Colorguard is Headed to Finals!

Our OGHS Patriot Band and Colorguard competed in the California State Band Championships Semi-Finals this past Saturday at Capistrano Valley High School and won 3rd Place in their class out of 9 total bands. Additionally, our color guard members received the HIGHEST SCORE out of all 9 ensembles that competed in our class, earning them the Class 1A High Auxiliary award.

This Saturday, the OGHS Patriot Band and Colorguard will travel to the California State Band Championships Finals at Newport Harbor High School. They will perform at 9:39 a.m. Please wish our students "Good Skill" as they finish their season with PRIDE! GO BIG BLUE!!!

Dance Winter Showcase 11/30/18

The dance department would like to invite you to our annual Winter Showcase on Friday, November 30 in the main gym. This year we have two shows so you can choose the 4:30 or 7:00pm show. Please consider coming to watch over 200 students participate in a variety of dance styles, most of them for the first time in front of a crowd. The show is less than an hour 😁 We hope to see you all there.

Congratulations to NJROTC

Please congratulate our NJROTC cadets who earned high marks at the military inspection yesterday. Commander Amos and Master Seargent Porter have done a tremendous job preparing their cadets for this important annual event.

Successful Jump Aboard for 8th Graders

Our students led nearly 2,000 8th graders on tours that included a festive rally in the gym and visits to our CTE programs. Thank you to Brian Gallo, Michelle Hammack, Jessica Young, Kristi Sovacool, and Brad Pulverenti for their tireless efforts to make our presentations shine.

I would also like to thank Martha Sarabia for inviting a group of parents from Mission Middle School to participate in this event. These parents were very excited to see all we have to offer at OGHS and are now considering having their 8th graders join us next year.
