Welcome to Orange Glen High School! It is a privilege to be the principal of OGHS and I am honored to be working with a team of educators who are committed to empowering every student at OGHS to exhibit Patriot Pride in our classrooms, on our campus, and in the Escondido community.
At Orange Glen High School, you will find a wide range of programs, activities, and opportunities for students to explore and develop as they prepare to become college and career ready. Our vision is to empower every student to embrace learning, achieve their personal best, and to build their social, emotional, and physical well-being. In order to ensure all of our students reach these goals, OGHS currently offers a nationally recognized AVID program, award winning Career & Technical Education (CTE) courses, and a highly decorated Naval Junior Reserves Officers Training Corps. We also take great Patriot PRIDE in our successful CIF Athletics program which has led many of our sports teams to CIF and League Championships.
In addition, OGHS has partnered with Palomar College this year to offer Dual Enrollment classes which allow our students to earn college credit for free while still attending high school. In order to expand this opportunity, we are proud to announce the opening of our Middle College at Orange Glen MC@OG which will welcome its first cohort of incoming 9th graders in the Fall of 2020. OGHS freshmen who participate in this program will be given the opportunity to earn significant college credits while completing their high school diplomas.
Parents continue to be an integral part in the personal and career success of all students. Recently, a Parent Center opened on campus offering a variety of workshops, ESL classes, Parents Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) and more. We invite you to participate as we work together to help our students navigate the challenges, choices, consequences and responsibilities of growing up in today’s world.
While we are very proud of recently earning the maximum six-year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), our work is never done. We remain focused on providing a safe and high-quality learning environment at Orange Glen in which students can strive to reach their own unique goals.
It is gratifying to witness the joy OGHS students display when learning they have mastered a difficult math concept, earned a coveted Seal of Biliteracy, overcome obstacles in their personal lives, or received acceptance to an Ivy League College. I look forward to continuing to be a part of the Orange Glen family and helping to shape the future of our students and community.
