English 11 is an overview of American literature beginning with Native American creation stories and tales and ending with 20th century literature. We will read both fiction and non-fiction pieces. Reading is an essential componant of life and my class. Students should be reading at least 30 minutes every night. Better readers make better learners. The foucs of the junior year is the future. Students need to recognize the steps needed to achieve their post high school goals. They will read great literature and write increasingly thoughtful, questioning and insightful papers.
