You need to bring a typed, 200-plus word, double-spaced introduction.
This work must be ready to turn in at the very beginning of the period--so print it out BEFORE class.
Please also type up the two pieces of textual evidence that you will use in your paper.
I just need the exact piece of evidence, so that I can think about whether your claim makes sense--so I can see if you are headed in the right direction.
A strong introduction has:
1. a claim/an argument/a thesis
2. a discussion of the claim/argument/ thesis
3. background information that is pertinent
to the claim/argument/ thesis
4. a discussion of the topic, if the topic
referred to is complex
You can decide in which order these elements should appear--you could "hourglass" or "pyramid" or "funnel."
