Ms. Medina holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in both Sociology and Critical Gender Studies from the University of California at San Diego and a Master's degree in Special Education from National University. Ms. Medina has been teaching at Orange Glen since 2020. Ms. Medina is currently pursing a PhD in Education for Social Justice at the University of San Diego. 

Ms. Medina was raised in Sonora, Mexico and lived there until she was 16 years old. Ms. Medina has lived in the San Diego area since 2012. She is bicultural and bilingual.
