Afterschool Programs
ABC After School Program:
The ABC programs provide a safe haven for students after regular school hours in a controlled, supervised and fun environment. Caring school personnel provide students with guidance and assistance in learning, enrichment, and recreational activities that help students realize their full potential.Orange Glen students appreciate the extra help on homework and test preparation, the ability to meet new fiends, and gain new skills and experiences. (See attached schedule below)

TIP Program:
The goal of TIP is to assist all students, especially 9th and 10th graders, in being successful in their academic classes. The TIP program offers high quality, subject specific tutoring with credentialed teachers and AVID trained tutors. Students who enroll in TIP receive free tutoring after school, before school, at lunch or on Saturdays. Students are assigned to a teacher who specializes in the area of the student's greatest need. Students also receive help in other subjects from our highly trained tutors. TIP also teaches students important life lessons in several areas:
College and Career Awareness & Preparation Social Skills Organization and Time Management Pro-social Skills Motivation. Students in TIP generally increase their Grade Point Averages by more than one letter grade during the semester. Students get a snack each day, and are eligible for raffles and other prizes based on their good attendance and work. (See Rewards Program Flyer below)
Space is limited. Sign up today using the form below, or contact your child's counselor or Assistant Principal.

Saturday Scholars:
Saturday Scholars gives students an opportunity to work with their teachers finishing projects, going over pre-test reviews, getting help with homework, quiet reading time, and rehearsals for music, dance, ROTC, etc, to improve their grades and skills. Attending also allows students to clear absences, which keep them eligible for VIP rewards and the MAP program (automatic entrance into Cal State San Marcos, starting graduating class 2011).
Our teachers are dedicated to student achievement, and many open their doors on specific Saturdays, from 8:00 am – 12:00 noon, for relevant activities. The following Saturdays are “official” Saturdays for the 2009-2010 calendar year, however individual teachers may opt to hold class on other Saturdays for specific academic purposes. Teachers will announce the dates they will be holding class. Having a class of at least 22 students on these Saturdays will enable us to keep this valuable program going.
Dates:
February 6 and 20 March 6 and 20
(See attached schedule below)

Saturday School:
Students with unexcused absences are required to attend this program to clear their absences. These students may attend Saturday Scholars with one of their teachers in lieu of a certain Saturday school day if the teacher agrees. Students are expected to bring work, but there are books for every subject in the rooms so students stay busy and quiet from 7:45 am – 12:15 pm.
